Working to Heal, Repair and Transform Citizens so They Heal the World – by Sam Daley-Harris
Happiness is not what makes us grateful. It is gratefulness that makes us happy.
A Listening Heart
Gratitude makes us feel bursting with delight, just to remember the gifts we have received. Thus we are doubly blessed when we receive something: for the gift itself and later, in recall, for the miracle of having been given it.
A thankful person is thankful under all circumstances. A complaining soul complains even in paradise.
For all that has been, thanks; to all that will be, yes.
God always provides what we need, but we must be ready to open our eyes and see it.
Holiness comes wrapped in the ordinary. There are burning bushes all around you. Every tree is full of [Read more…]
I have spent most of my adult life with a mission to be a Light in the world, with a focus on supporting others on their personal life/spiritual journeys.
In the past year, however, my world view has been transformed, and my circle of care has expanded beyond my own family and community, to embrace all of creation. Through experiencing an “Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream” symposium, and making a Journey into the Amazon (both through the Pachamama Alliance), I have experienced the interconnectedness of all life, and have been empowered by a vision and mission of helping to create “an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling and socially just human presence on this planet.”
This is the world I want to leave to my children and grandchildren!
In this section of my website you will find many reflections and resources to help us all grow in our call to be part of bringing about this world vision for future generations.

Following is an excerpt of the Earth Charter created by the Earth Charter Initiative.
We stand at a critical moment in Earth’s history, a time when humanity must choose its future. As the world becomes increasingly interdependent and fragile, the future at once holds great peril and great promise. To move forward we must recognize that in the midst of a magnificent diversity of cultures and life forms we are one human family and one Earth community with a common destiny. We must join together to bring forth a sustainable global society founded on respect for nature, universal human rights, economic justice, and a culture of peace. Towards this end, it is imperative that we [Read more…]

…To start a conversation to help restore balance society’s imbalanced masculine and feminine values at the root of our many crises…”
[Adapted from a message given at churches on Earth Day, 2013]
A powerful transformation began within me last spring when a friend sent me an announcement of a program being offered by the Sisters of Mercy. The words describing its purpose really touched my heart – “to help create an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling, and socially just human presence on this planet.” I thought: “This is the world I want to leave to my children and grandchildren!”
18 Years ago the Achuar people, an indigenous tribe deep in Ecuador’s Amazon rainforest, put out a request for partners in the industrialized world who would work with them to protect their ancient home and culture. This was the birth of the Pachamama Alliance, an organization that eventually developed the “Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream” Symposium.
After experiencing this symposium, something within me shifted and I felt intensely God’s compassion for all her creation, and her call to me to be part of its healing. [Read more…]
With Mother’s Day approaching I’m reminded of how much my mother cared for her children, and how sad it was when she was the one needing care. It also reminds me that we all have a mother who is not doing well now: Mother Earth.
Through the years our Mother Earth has blessed us with beauty and bounty, providing us with majestic mountains, rich and fertile soil, abundant fruits and vegetables, gentle sunlight, nourishing rainfall and starlit skies. But are we hearing her cries for help? [Read more…]
